The first two months of the year have been absolutely jam packed with new games and there are even more to come still. Naturally, I am in full swing picking them up and starting all of them. Not really all of them, but just about. I wanted to take some time to just sit and write a little bit about what’s been going on in my game room since the last time I wrote.
It’s Always The RPGs
I’ll admit, I think RPGs are my favorite genre. However, that also creates the added pressure of wanting to experience them all at once. Instead though, I currently only have two going at the moment. Those two lovely titles are Tales of Arise and Pokémon: Legends Arceus. Technically I have seen credits roll for Arceus but I am working on getting my shiny charm. I really consider that to be “the end” and am looking forward to writing my post about that game when I have achieved that task. It is a task though, that keeps getting thwarted by shiny hunting. Ironic right? Pokémon: Legends Arceus is just too dang fun to shiny hunt in that I can’t even wait to get the shiny charm to do it. Go figure.
Tales of Arise however, I believe I am about 40 hours in. Admittedly, I haven’t really touched it much since Arceus came out. Pokémon has a special way of consuming me. Regardless though, I am still very much invested in Tales of Arise and look forward to picking it back up when my Pokémon fever dies back down. It is my first ever Tales game but it certainly has me interested to go back and enjoy the other titles within the franchise. To my understanding, Arise is a bit different than those other titles but I am always interested in seeing how franchises grow and change.
Can’t Forget The Co-Op Games
Coming in full swing (pun intended) we have Dying Light 2. My roommate and I played the first one to death and this second one will be no exception. We already have 40 hours in it and have enjoyed every second of it. It is, however, quite glitchy. Those glitches have certainly fueled our laughter, though we manage to do that on our own just fine. It definitely warrants making it into this update though, as I have enjoyed playing it and it is taking up most of my gaming time right now.
I’m a sucker for a good game I can play start to finish with someone. It creates a ton of new memories and helps continue to build that bond with whoever you play with. On top of that, it is just nice to share your interests with someone from time to time. An introvert like me is perfectly content at home gaming with my roommate. However, my personal life has been rather full aside form that as well, which has diverted me from games a bit.
A Much Needed Vacation
My sister came into town late last week and left Wednesday. I hadn’t seen her in a good few years so it was great to finally reconnect and enjoy her company again. We played some of our favorite childhood games and of course, I showed her some of my new favorites. Beyond games, we also got out of the house quite a bit which was actually really great for me.
The biggest event we went to was Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia tour and it was absolutely breathtaking. Talk about a high-class performance and just loads of talent. She really created something incredible with this tour and I feel so blessed to have been able to see it. Other than that though, we explored a lot of Nashville and saw some smaller artists perform, too. Needless to say, it was a really great time.
What’s Next?
Well, as you guys may or may not know, I’m a huge Horizon fan and the next installment comes out TOMORROW. Unfortunately that means I’ll be adding another game to list of games I am playing, but I have zero regrets. Horizon Forbidden West is certainly a day one game for me and I will treat is as such, just as soon as Amazon delivers my collector’s edition. Beyond that, I’ll still be working on my shiny charm, enjoying Dying Light with my roommate and eventually make my way back to Tales of Arise. What a fantastic year so far!
